Today, the team at 76 Place at Market East announced it will hold an in-person community meeting on Thursday, November 16, to share details of the proposed arena project and hear from residents, business owners, stakeholders, and others who are interested in the project.

“Since we announced the 76 Place at Market East proposal, we have talked with communities and updated our plans based on the thoughtful feedback of residents, businesses, and stakeholders,” said David Gould, 76ers’ chief diversity and impact officer. “We are looking forward to continuing the dialogue at an in-person community meeting, which will enable us to develop a project that is a win for everybody. It’s important for us to share our plans and learn more about the priorities and needs of the community. As we continue our community engagement, we hope this in-person community meeting will be a valuable resource for those interested in the project and ensure a vibrant and thriving Market East.”

The meeting will provide the opportunity to learn more about the current proposal, which has been informed by community feedback over the last year. Attendees can expect to learn more about the project design, transportation plan, economic impact of the project, tax benefits from the new development, and more details. There will be panel discussions from those leading the project from the 76 Place team. There will also be an opportunity for questions, community dialogue, and feedback.

76 Place will be an exciting new home for the Philadelphia 76ers and its fans, creating thousands of new jobs during construction and ongoing operations, generating an estimated $1.5 billion in new tax revenues for the state, city, and Philadelphia School District, and anchoring the redevelopment of East Market Street, once one of Philadelphia’s prime commercial corridors.

As part of the development process, the team behind 76 Place is committed to working with its neighbors and stakeholders across the city, listening to their questions and responding to concerns. To date, the 76 Place team has held over 85 meetings with community members and a series of information sessions, including five virtual information sessions in August attended by hundreds of community members.
