Development team will share new renderings, analysis, and project updates in response to feedback from the community and the Civic Design Review Committee
Philadelphia, PA (March 19, 2024) – Today, the Philadelphia City Planning Commission announced that the second civic design review (CDR) meeting to discuss 76 Place at Market East will take place on April 2, 2024, at 9:30 AM. During the meeting, the public can hear from members of the development team and experts who will provide updates on the proposal, including changes made in response to feedback from the CDR meeting in December 2023.
Updates to be discussed will include:
• Planned changes for street-level activation, including increased retail and food and beverage operations and modified entrance locations that will encourage foot traffic 365 days a year, including non-event times.
• Details around pedestrian flow and analysis to support efficient ingress and egress.
• Traffic & parking assessments that show more than ample parking, ride-share locations, and modifications to proposed street closures to mitigate concerns around traffic on event days.
• New renderings and schematics that visualize street-level promenade plans, sidewalk and entrance modifications to improve the pedestrian experience, the arena on non-event days, and more.
“We have listened intently throughout the community engagement process and while we have already made many updates in response to community feedback, we are grateful for more opportunities to hear from Philadelphians about how further strengthen this project,” said David Adelman, chairman of 76 DevCo. “We are eager to work together towards solutions for traffic concerns, showcase our vision for a street-level promenade that will activate Market Street, and show how we are addressing issues that were raised in community meetings as well as the last CDR meeting. We look forward to the continued dialogue around 76 Place and highlighting just how much the city and its residents stand to benefit from this transformative project.”
