The collaboration will enable access to parking on event days, enhance urban mobility and sustainability, and contribute to making Center City a world-class event destination
Parkway, a Philadelphia-based real estate developer, investor, and best-in-class parking operator, and 76DevCo, the developers of 76 Place at Market East, the proposed Philadelphia 76ers arena, announced today they will work closely on transit and parking solutions.
With its 100 years of experience in the parking industry, Parkway is uniquely positioned to advise the 76 Place development team on parking and traffic. The collaboration will facilitate access to nearby parking locations to meet the anticipated demand of over 3,100 spaces per event as well as the ability for season ticket holders to seamlessly integrate parking into their gameday experience.
“This project is vitally important to the revitalization of Market East, the post-pandemic recovery of Center City, and Philadelphia’s economic future. We are confident and committed to working with the 76 Place development team to ensure that 76 Place is a win for all of Philadelphia,” said Robert Zuritsky, President and CEO of Parkway. “We care deeply about our community and will lend our technology, expertise, and experience to ensure that we provide ample parking for residents and local businesses. We understand the economic benefits of building 76 Place within walking distance of so many commercial corridors and residential neighborhoods, and we are committed to providing parking solutions that support economic growth for all local businesses.”
“Parkway’s multi-generational commitment to addressing the parking needs of the City of Philadelphia aligns with our goal of creating a central hub for entertainment and community gatherings,” said Jon Fascitelli, CEO of 76DevCo. “By leveraging their expertise in parking management, operations, and strategy, we can set new benchmarks for the visitor experience and help mitigate a primary question surrounding the proposed arena.”
Parkway and 76 Place will collaborate to address parking needs during gameday and events by integrating parking reservations into the ticket purchase process. This will allow fans to conveniently select the most suitable location with real-time availability. Amenities such as EV charging and license plate recognition will improve mobility while supporting the smart, sustainable future of the city. Parkway’s industry-leading customer service, supported by cutting-edge technology, will provide an exceptional, hassle-free parking experience.
“At Parkway, we’re proud of the role we’ve played in Philadelphia’s evolution into a first-class city,” continued Zuritsky. “We’re thrilled to work with the team behind 76 Place, which we know is going to be an important part of the city’s future. Opening the best, state-of-the-art arena in the world will not only position Philadelphia as a leader in arts and culture but also attract development and tourism that provide economic stability for the city’s future.”
